Nonprofit Accounting Basics for Board Members Presented by Kelly Mathews, New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc.

 Nonprofit Accounting Basics for Board Members is designed to demystify nonprofit accounting by providing an overview of key accounting terms, basic accounting practices, financial statements and reporting requirements.

 

What will be covered:

· Cash vs. Accrual accounting

· Financial reporting to the board

· Internal controls and fraud prevention

· The IRS Form 990, CHAR 500 & CFR
